Over the last week i have been creating my own flower essences the simple way.
i love simplicity!
i was out walking amongst the bluebells last week when i chose to visit a little area i love.
When i arrived there i found the ground covered in little purple Dog Violets.
It was such a beautiful sight!
i have visited this little area many times over the past year and a half and each time i come to visit its flora and fauna is slightly different, i was expecting Bluebells but not such an abundance of these little beauties!
I spent some time here meditating surrounded by the moss and the violets and the trees, with the suns dappled rays shining down on me through the newly unfurling leaves. i so love this little spot.........ever so slightly tucked away out of sight in a local Nature Reserve.
As i walked away the thought occurred to me that i could make a flower essence from the flowers. i just love wild flowers. a couple of years ago a met a guy who had made his own Vibrational medicine from flowers, he didn't harvest the flowers but communed with the Deva of the plant and then gentle lowered the flower into a crystal geode of spring water, where the full vibrational pattern of the flower, its stem, root pattern and location would all be transmitted into the water, along with the energy of the crystal. Magic!
i work with these Wildflower essences, and find them very beautiful. But making my own well that felt really exciting and some thing i had thought about doing last year.
So the next time i went out for a walk i filled a jar with water and kept my eye open for violets.
I went walking in a different forest, another favourite, of course! Abbott's Wood. Known for its Bluebells this time of year.
I was almost at the end of my walk and had only seen the odd violet here and there, when i came across another favourite spring flower, The Primrose.
There were lots of them growing alongside a little stream running through the woods.
I opened my jar and began to gather a flower here and there, only taking one from each plant and always asking for permission too before picking. i selected the finest looking ones giving gratitude each time i picked one.
i gathered about 12 in all.
Hand on heart i gave thanks to the flowers and to the Deva's and headed home to add a crystal to the mix!
Now i have to say i am just making this up as i go along, i understand the basics of what is involved in making an essence and with that knowledge and my intuition i am simply playing!
i thought I'd be adding a yellow crystal to the water, but as i walked around my house looking at various crystals the herkimer diamond called the loudest. what i love about making your own essence and using ones intuition is that you are being guided by the body itself. you will know what it is you most need in that moment. you may receive and image, hear a word or just know what is right for you. when out walking the flowers may talk to you! we are in constant communication with everything all the time.
I let my magical essence sit in its jar on my alter space over night.
I felt that this essence was going to be working on my heart chakra, helping to open and cleanse away any old ties and cords.
if you want to know what your essence is for let your intuition guide you. how does your body feel when you think about or touch the flowers. try asking the flowers themselves what they are for. You might even get a sense from the colour, the shapes.
Just a note to say that i haven't planned to keep and bottle these essences, that's a whole other journey! i will be drinking the water over a three day period. (i don't know why, that just feels right! how simple and without logic!)
I began to get images of new light pattern being weaved in and around me! i love seeing energy.
As i was going off to sleep that night, super chuffed and excited by making the flower essence. i received some inspiration to go and collect natural spring water, i still had my violet essence to make.
So the next day i took a friend to go gather some natural spring water from a spring in a place called Faulking. The water runs straight out of the hill side, so within the essence is also all the magic contained within this water!
Straight out of the foot of the hill, cold crystal clear magical waters from deep within the Earth
So now i have my spring water and i wait for the next sunny day to gather my flowers
I sat amongst the flowers again and tuned into them, the message i received was about the heart again and about opening. Opening of the third eye also. i had a sense that this essence would help me stay open.
Last night i awoke from a rather lovely dream with a rather lovely man who i admire very much. After that dream i had an experience of my heart being fully open. In fact all my cells were fully open. ( i finished drinking my primrose essence yesterday) i guess i have always thought of myself as having an open heart, and on some level yes, but after this experience i see that it has not been fully open, and i can also see now how that has stopped me from giving and sharing with an open heart. i'm very excited by this next bit of flower medicine.
i had my first taste today, amethyst and violet
oh yes the herkimer diamond wanted to join the mix too, so i popped it in!
